Fan Favourite Sound Foundation
Following the highly popular ONIX Alpha XI1, the new Beta XI2 was designed around the same top-of-the-line Cirrus Logic CS43198 DACs. Utilizing a pair of DACs for fully balanced output, providing excellent detailed and energetic sound that made the XI1 stand out among its rivals.
Upgraded Headphone Amplifier
A significant change comes with the amplifier on Beta XI2, now featuring more advanced audio architecture with dual OPA 1662 and quad BUF634A. While the overall output power wasn’t changed much from the Alpha XI1, the new amplifier designs offer impressive improvements to clarity and control, making XI2 even better match for high-end earphones and full-size headphones.

Extra Tube Output
Thanks to the partnership with Shanling Audio, utilizing their vast knowledge of tube designs and following the portable market adoption of tube outputs, we are excited to bring this special sound enhancement to the Beta XI2.
A pair of long-lasting and low-heat JAN 6418 tubes was introduced to the audio circuit of Beta XI2, securing them safely inside the device, with just two small windows providing a glimpse at the tube glow. A new setting was added to the system of the DAC, allowing for a quick switching between the Audio outputs of the Beta XI2, assuring the tube can be switched on or off almost immediately, as the mood or the music dictates.
* Note on Tube Microphonics: ONIX Beta XI2 is using a special tube suspension system that was developed over many months of testing. At ONIX we believe we have reduced the tube microphonics to its minimum, offering better tube performance than you can find on any other similar device on the market. Yet the nature of the tube design can never fully eliminate microphonics and as such in certain conditions (tapping, dropping, etc) some tube microphonics can be audible on Beta XI2(Only when Tube mode is activated). Please note that the tube microphonics are not an acceptable cause for warranty claims.
